Ballater Primary is a medium sized primary school of around 60 children in P1 – P7, and 17 children in the nursery. The school is situated within the village of Ballater. The current school building was built in 1956. The school is within the heart of The Cairngorms National Park. Ballater is one of 10 primary schools in the Aboyne Network, our pupils transfer to Aboyne Academy.Children have the chance to become involved in school groups, such as Eco Group and Pupil Council, Buddies, Playground Monitors, Rights Respecting Group and lunch time clubs. The school is very well-supported by the Parent Council and benefits greatly from their activities; through regular meetings they are involved in School and Policy development work. Their consistent fundraising throughout the year enhances curricular opportunities and they provide many social opportunities for both pupils and the community as a whole.
